Dear reader,

August has always been a favorite month for me – it’s part of summer, there are many birthdays and anniversaries to enjoy, plus a new milestone to celebrate this year. August 18 marked my 1-year Freedom Day, the day I left my civic job to go full time with FontWerks. Growing up I never dreamt I would be working for myself and much less in the craft field – but now I know it is a dream come true and a true blessing from God. So I wanted to say thank you to all of you who have come with me on this journey and for your support! To celebrate, I will be doing daily giveaways on my blog starting today, for the next week – so come on by for your chance to win great FontWerks prize packs!

We had a wonderful time at CHA in Chicago, I was blown away by the number of new accounts – stores who ordered from us because their customers had been asking them about FontWerks. It was a great pleasure to meet them and also to say hello to our current customers and loyal retail supporters. Most of the orders from CHA Summer have been shipped and the rest should go out in the next week or so – here are a few stores who have their orders so far. (This is not an exhaustive list, and I’ll add more stores on my blog and also in the next newsletter!): www.scrapbookshopofstpaul.com
www.blackberrypaper.com
www.scrapsupply.com
www.amillionlittlethings.com
www.thescrapbookoasis.com

And a few stores getting their orders this week:

www.tallyscrapper.com

You’ll see some of our products in upcoming kits from:
www.cocoadaisy.com
www.labeltulip.com
www.studiocalico.com
www.thescarletlime.com

Speaking of Cocoa Daisy, they featured some of our papers and rub ons in their August Kit which Ali Edwards then used to create her summer album. You can see that on Ali’s blog (click on Blogs of interest) and you can get the rub ons here on the site now!

design team Design Team Layouts

This month the FontWerks Design Team got to play with a few items from PageFrames Designs, the acrylic shapes and albums are amazing – so easy to use and fun! Thank you to Tara and the team at PageFrames – you’ll see more of their products in our gallery in the future as well. The team at Advantus came by at CHA to do a product swap so you might see some Heidi Swapp products in our gallery too. And yes we do joke that we swapped with Mrs. Swapp. LOL. You will also see a lot of our brand new papers, stamps and especially stickers in use – check them out here.

design team Friends of FontWerks

Our Friends of FontWerks this month are Sarah Bowen and Andrea Wiebe. I first saw Sarah’s work while surfing the web a few months ago, and I saw Andrea’s work when she won a little contest over at the Lil’Davis blog. I realized after I had invited them both to be this month’s FOFs that they are now part of the team at SisTV, where soon you will find FontWerks products. To see their fabulous work, click click here. Thank you Sarah and Andrea for sharing your work with us this month!

design teamUpcoming Events

Having not travelled at all in August has been a nice break, but I’m now gearing up for a very busy Fall/Winter. I’ll be at Scrapfest teaching a few classes September 6-8 and doing some make and takes there as well. If you’re in the Edmonton area, come and say hello, would love to meet you! Right after that I head to Parksville, BC to teach at Scrapbookin’Adventures’ 1-year anniversary retreat. So honored that the classes have sold out and looking forward to that event. I think there are a few seats left in the Friday night crop if you are interested, so here is the link: www.scrapbookinadventures.ca.

FontWerks is also proud to be a national sponsor of Canada Crop 4 Kids. We will be participating at each location’s events – whether it be providing door prizes, to sponsoring full classes. I’ll share my reasons for why we’re supporting this great event in our October newsletter.

So here’s to a great rest of the summer and a good start to the school year – and to more years of celebrating Freedom Days!
