Dear reader, Whoa. September already. Who's ready for the fall, the crisp cool air, the turning of the leaves? I am! Loved the summer, but also looking forward to the cosy comfort of staying indoors during the rainy cold days/nights – maybe get a little scrapbooking and stamping done. After the disaster of Katrina, I am even more thankful for a safe home and family around me. Makes me appreciative and long to do more to help. My prayers go out to the evacuees and their families. We will be coming out with a monthly newsletter, coming out around the 12th of each month. In each issue you will find:
I recently held a Preferred Designers Search and am glad to say that I’ve added Laura Kurz, Erin Lincoln and Melissa Diekema to the FontWerks team; they join Rachel Ludwig and Maria Grace Abuzman and I am thrilled to pieces to be working with these ladies. We are building a strong team and our goal is to create pieces that will inspire you to break out your stamps, inks, papers and such – we at FontWerks want to be your source of inspiration when it comes to stamping in your scrapbooks and we will work hard to earn that privilege. Please join me in welcoming them to the team, and take a moment to browse through the galleries for their pictures, bios and layouts. And, a special thank you to a great friend, Ali Edwards, for helping judge the contest – we love you Ali! We introduced a line of 24 papers at CHA Summer – "Fashion Collection II by Anne Langpap" but unfortunately due to production problems they have been delayed and will be shipping in about 2 weeks. We will also be showcasing them at Memory Trends along with our current line of stamps and rub ons; we will also be having six new sets of stamps at Memory Trends – using art created by a couple of your favourite scrapbook artists – so excited about these – so check out our October newsletter for sneak peeks before Memory Trends (October 10-12 2005 in Las Vegas). And if you will be at the show, please come by and say hello, take some pictures and relax at our booth, #205 – we love seeing you at the shows!
We’ve started something we call "Friends of FontWerks" – which will be guest designers whose work we will feature every month. This month, I invited two of the runners up in the Preferred Designers’ contest to join the Friends of FontWerks group and I am blown away by their enthusiasm, creativity and style. This month’s Friends of FontWerks are Rebecca Cantu and Tia Bennett – thank you, ladies, for sharing your talent and passion. I am glad to call you my friends! You won’t want to miss October’s Friends of FontWerks – we’ve got a whole GROUP of them!
We are the Latest and Greatest! Yes, FontWerks is featured in the September 2005 issue of Creating Keepsakes column of “Latest and Greatest,” and we are so pleased and proud. We were contacted by CK editors a few months back and it’s been hard keeping this a secret, it’s been so exciting. They featured our Cezanne stamps – yes, the Cezanne font licensed from P22. This last couple months has been busy for our team – they are published all over the place and I am so proud of them. Marygrace (or MG or G as we love her as) was featured as CK’s Fresh Face in the July issue – she has a style like no other. You can also find FontWerks in the CK Hall of Fame 2005 book – our own Rachel Ludwig is a HOF this year and you can bet she used some FW in her entry! Congratulations, Rachel! This talented woman also got the cover of the upcoming CK Annual Idea Book – and yes – there is FontWerks on it – can you spot it??! Also, FontWerks is a big fan of BHG – and I wanted to congratulate Melissa Diekema for getting the cover of BHG Scrapbook Inspirations – her cover model daughter Matea is a sweetie – I got to meet her this summer along with the rest of the Diekema’s in lovely Michigan – that state rocks. And…. In the new year we will be celebrating with Erin as her new books rolls off the presses and into the stores Supply Savvy Scrapbooking by CK — so excited for you, Erin!! Each month without fail it seems that FW shows up on layout in Memory Makers issues and books - the wonderful staff at MM send me the magazines each month pointing out the work to me – I love that – thanks to those who continue to use our |
