Dear reader, Is it chilly in your neck of the woods? It sure is here, at FontWerks headquarters. Makes me want to curl up with a hot chocolate and a good book. And those rainy days are good for popping out the stamps and having a creative go at all the cards and gifts that I plan to have ready for Christmas! But before Christmas comes Thanksgiving. I'd like to wish all our American friends a Happy Thanksgiving (as we celebrated our Canadian thanksgiving in October at Memory Trends!) Speaking of Memory Trends, what fun it was in Las Vegas! I had the pleasure of spending a few days with some of my design team members Melissa, Laura and Erin, and had a great time at the booth, meeting people and getting to see all the new products. FontWerks reintroduced the Fashion Collection II papers as well as six new rubberstamps (links in the right column to the new stamps). We welcomed aboard product designers Tia Bennett and Elsie Flannigan and are so proud of the designs and stamps. These stamps are now available at your local scrapbook store – you can check out the store locator - and also on the FontWerks site.
FontWerks also recently signed with new distributors and this month we are celebrating the fact that FontWerks can now be found in Australia! To help us celebrate, this month's Friends of FontWerks are Australians Fiona Carter and Helen Thura Palsson. » Check out the FOF gallery for their sumptious art! Thank you to Fiona and Helen for your serious inspiration and friendship. Don't forget to check out the design teams' work this November! If you ever wanted to own 26 pieces of scrapbooking art by some of the top names in the industry, you now can! As part of the Memory Trends fun, we invited 26 women to participate in the first Friends of FontWerks Wall – and it was a resounding success, and we will be continuing with this project for each tradeshow. We assigned an alphabet to each participant and asked them to create a 6x6 piece of art. I was amazed at the pages that came back, and am thrilled to call these women friends. Thank you to Ali Edwards, Tina Barriscale, Cynthia Roybal, Dagmar Neumann, Erin Lincoln, Elsie Flannigan, Gina Regala, Tia Bennett, Angela Marvel, Jenn Lessinger, Kristina Nicolai-White, Laura Kurz, Melissa Diekeman, Nia Reddy, MC Kropinski, Joy Bohon, Jen Johner, Rachel Ludwig, Sharly Balcaen, Tara Whitney, Kate Teague, Tamara Warner, Wendy Bretz, MaryGrace Abuzman, Candi Leonard, and Erica Hernandez! And these fabulous ladies have agreed to donate their work to aid in the Hurrican Katrina relief effort, and FontWerks is proud to partner up with them in this effort. The ebay auction will last for 1 week and FontWerks will match proceeds up to $500 and donate it all to the Red Cross. We will be sure to report back on this worthwhile cause in our next newsletter! And as a THANK YOU to the participants, their names were put in a hat and in grand Vegas style, one winner took it all home – the entire FontWerks line – went to Erica Hernandez! Congrats, Erica! Wishing everyone a warm and creative Fall (and don't forget to get going for Christmas)!
